MARCELO ALONSO & NICK UNANDER

 

These legends met at a BJJ competition in Seattle, WA over 20 years ago. Nick's students were doing very well on the mats and Marcelo approached Nick (a brown belt at the time) to join forces and be taken under his experienced wing. Promoted to Black Belt in 2008, Nick has remained loyal to his lineage with Marcelo and the infamously tough Carlson Gracie training methods and techniques, and received his

4th Degree from Marcelo in 2022.

Marcello, Coral Belt, has many associated clubs across the state of Washington, USA along with numerous fans and followers from around the world. His BJJ life story is inspirational and book worthy. As a child from the streets of Copacabana training with the Gracie's, to spreading his knowledge across the West Coast and beyond, Marcelo's impressive in-depth knowledge of this art is mind boggling and once you meet him here in Cyprus you will understand why he has earned the nickname "The Encyclopedia of BJJ"...
