NICK UNANDER

 

Professor Nick Unander is a 4th Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Marcelo Alonso of the Carlson Gracie lineage, with over 30 years of martial arts experience and more than 27 years of teaching. A lifelong martial artist, his background spans Taekwondo, Karate, MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and he has dedicated his career to developing students of all ages and abilities.

As founder and head instructor of Bad Dog BJJ in Cyprus, with affiliates in USA & Greece, Nick has built a thriving academy from the ground up, producing IBJJF, ADCC and AJP medallists while remaining passionate about helping every student reach their full potential.

 

Known for his technical knowledge, engaging teaching style and genuine enthusiasm for the art, Nick's seminars combine practical, effective jiu-jitsu with concepts that students can immediately apply to their own game.

 

JARNO NURMINEN

 

Professor Jarno Nurminen is one of Finland's most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaches, combining decades of experience as a competitor, instructor, and official. A seasoned black belt, he has medalled at major IBJJF events and also enjoyed a successful professional MMA career before dedicating himself to coaching and developing athletes.

Beyond the mats, Jarno is recognised internationally as one of ADCC's most experienced referees, serving as Head Referee for ADCC Finland and officiating at prestigious ADCC events across the globe for many years. He has overseen some of the sport's biggest matches and had the honour of raising the hands of numerous ADCC champions and world-class grapplers throughout his career.

Known for his calm, technical teaching style and exceptional attention to detail, Jarno's seminars focus on practical, high-percentage jiu-jitsu that students of every level can immediately apply to their own game.

PAUL BROUGHTON

 

Professor Paul Broughton is a respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and alongside his brother Dave (as seen being choked above) are the founders of Carlson Gracie Kent, where he has spent years helping to develop a strong, successful and welcoming team. His technical, no-nonsense approach reflects the values of the Carlson Gracie lineage—solid fundamentals, relentless pressure and jiu-jitsu that works.

Away from the academy, Paul is widely recognised as the driving force behind the English Open, one of the UK's premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. His commitment to growing the sport extends well beyond the mats, giving thousands of competitors the opportunity to test themselves in a professionally run event. Whether teaching in the academy or hosting major competitions, Paul's passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the community around it is evident in everything he does.
